An electric gear motor is a mechanical device that combines an electric motor with a gearbox, essentially allowing the motor to produce high torque at a reduced speed by utilizing a system of gears to decrease the rotational speed while increasing the output torque, making it suitable for applications where controlled movement with high force is required; it can be powered by either alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC) electricity depending on the motor type used.
